I am delighted to introduce myself as the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing's Consultant Editor representing the North of England. It is a privilege to join this esteemed journal and collaborate with such a dedicated and knowledgeable editorial board. Each member brings invaluable expertise, and together, along with the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing's Editor, Arabella, we strive to provide a platform that informs, supports and elevates the medical aesthetics community. Our shared mission is to uphold the highest standards, ensuring patient safety, ethical practice and professional excellence remain at the heart of our industry.

Those of you who know me are very aware that I am passionate about the intersection of female hormonal health and medical aesthetics. Hormonal fluctuations play a significant role in skin health, aging, and treatment efficacy, yet this connection is often overlooked in our field. By understanding the impact that hormonal changes, be that perimenopause, menopause or hormonally-driven conditions, have on the skin and overall physiology, and incorporating this into our approach, we can move towards more holistic, patient-centred care that enhances both aesthetic outcomes and overall wellbeing. When we acknowledge the broader physiological factors influencing a patient's skin and aging process, we can o^ er treatments that align with their individual needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
