Introducing our first quarterly issue

02 July 2024
Volume 13 · Issue 4

The wait is over. You hold in your hands (or view on your screens) a rather special issue of the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing – our very first quarterly edition. We have decided to give the way we do things a little revamp, and instead of publishing the usual monthly issue, we have made the exciting decision to bring you a steady stream of fresh, exclusive content to the website, with a more substantial print issue delivered to you every quarter. This stream of fresh content online will allow us to keep you, our readers, poised at the forefront of new developments in the ever-evolving world of aesthetics, without having to wait to receive a monthly print issue.

As befits such a special occasion, our first quarterly issue is bursting with fascinating clinical content. We discuss how to achieve natural-looking facial harmonisation through the expert use of hyaluronic acid fillers, compare collagen stimulators with hyaluronic acid fillers and discuss how to approach skin rejuvenation with the use of combination therapy. We also delve into the sculptural art of body contouring in an article that discusses how our preferences for the shape of the human body have changed over time, and the methods aesthetic practitioners can use to keep up with these preferences.

Additionally, in light of the impending 2025 concentration restrictions on retinol, retinyl acetate and retinyl palmitate, we also have an enlightening guide to topical retinoids written by chemical engineer, skincare science educator and founder of skincare education platform, Skin Masterclass, Cigdem Kemal Yilmaz.

We have also been busy planning our 10th anniversary, better-than-ever Aesthetic Nursing Conference which is set to take place in Leeds on 24 November later this year. We hope you'll join us for talks from leading industry experts, specialist discussions, updates on best practice, demonstrations and of course, an evening mixer with a few special surprises.

Tickets are complimentary upon registration, CPD accredited (worth 8 points) and sign-ups are flying in, so if you'd like to join us, please don't hesitate to register today. It's an event not to be missed, and we cant wait to see you there!
