As the new Editor of the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing, I wanted to start off this issue with a brief introduction. My name is Arabella Golby, and with an eclectic background spanning the publishing, beauty and life science realms, I'm thrilled to have taken over the mantle as Editor. Fresh from the 9th Aesthetic Nursing Conference—where it was wonderful to meet so many of our contributors and readers — I'm excited to start making my vision for this journal a reality.
In regards to this issue, I'm delighted to share a fascinating and informative clinical piece on upper eye ptosis from Ms Priya Udani. Ms Udani is an ophthalmic surgeon with a special interest in oculoplastic surgery. In this piece, she shares her expertise on how to identify the various types of ptosis and the subsequent implications in the decision-making process regarding treatment.
In addition to this, Professor David Sines shares the JCCP's response to the DHSC licensing of non-surgical cosmetic procedures first consultation paper.
I have also included an eye-opening practice management piece on the increase of fraud in the healthcare section from regular contributor Adam Bernstein.
Circling back to the Aesthetic Nursing Conference, it was a pleasure to hear from so many industry-leading specialists and we had a great deal of positive feedback from delegates. I am relatively new to the aesthetics industry and I must say how much I have been struck by the warm and friendly reception I have received so far, and it was a real pleasure to experience the warmth of this community in real life at our conference. Fostering a collaborative, supportive environment in which to exchange knowledge is of the utmost importance to us, and we were so pleased to receive such positive feedback from attendees. If you weren't able to make it this year, we do hope you'll join us next time.
